Deep tissue massage aims at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, which are also called as ‘connective tissues’. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, Thai massage, Sports/muscular massage and Lymphatic drainage. But in this therapy the pressure will be more intense. The therapist works to release chronic muscle tension and knots which are also known as “Adhesions.”

You may have some stiffness or pain after a deep tissue massage, but it will subside within a day or so. The massage therapist will advise you to apply ice to the area after the massage.
