A massage contraindication is something which should not be massaged. It the contraindication is massaged, further injury will be the result and it might lead to even death.
The two primary contraindications are:
Local contraindications
It consists of the diseases which are related to pathology. In this case, many cautions have to be done before massaging any area of the body. The contraindications may be permanent or temporary.
Some of the diseases which cause local contraindications are bruises, acne vulgaris, hernia, open wounds, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome etc.
Absolute contraindications
In absolute contraindications the person is completely restricted from massage. It may cause death of the patient in some cases.
Some of the diseases which cause absolute contraindications are chicken pox, gout, fever, Hepatitis, lupus, influenza, measles, scabies etc.
Contraindications Massage Morphine
Morphine is used as a medicine for strong pain such as pain in the brain. It is a group of drug which fall under the category of narcotic pain relievers. Massage is not suggested when a person is taking high dose medications for strong pain such as morphine.
Contraindications Massage Antibiotics
Antibiotics are prescribed for different types of diseases. They are prescribed to kill the bacteria or to cure an injury. Massage is a taboo when a person is taking high dose antibiotics for some diseases because the body is already infected with a virus. This makes a contraindication and if any of the part is massaged it may release harmful chemicals from the muscles. This may be overload for the immune system and the viral infection healing process may get delayed.
